Rheem hails from L.A. and is the most successful player still in the WSOP main event 2008. He is so well respected that although he is lying in 7th position he is one of the favourites to win the tournament. Rheem has had 6 WSOP Cashes now, including his main event cash for this year. His best result being the 2nd place he managed to get in 2006 in the $1,000 No Limit event in which he finished behind Allen Cunningham for a massuve $327,981. He has also cashed in the main event before with a 193rd place finish in the 2005 event, ($39,075). Rheem has also finished 29th in the 2007 WSOP $2,500 H.O.R.S.E., 5th in the 2008 WSOP $5,000 Mixed Hold'em (Limit and No Limit,) had 7 different cashes in WPT events as well as many a success in big Bellagio tournaments. Rheem's background has been heavily scrutinized thanks to a Florida newspaper reporting about past criminal convictions that he was charged for. Allegedly, Rheem was charged with burglary, dealing in stolen property, larceny and marijuana possession and had to serve 4 months in prison and 30 months of probation. These charges, however, are not a concern of the WSOP's organizers, stating that they were "basically the odds of society" and "not an unusual circumstance". Members of the poker community support their fellow player, and describe Rheem as one of the most humble and friendly players in the poker circuit. When asked what he would be doing until the final table begins Rheem said 'I'm going to take a long vacation.'
