Coren was first seen at the poker tables playing in Channel 4's Late Night Poker but failed to make serious headway when she missed out on the series final. This changed when she played in the second series of Challenge TV's Celebrity Poker Club in 2004 which she won by beating snooker player Willie Thorn heads up.
The poker world really sat up and took notice of Coren when she sensationally won the EPT London in September 2006. Coren, who is a regular at the Grosvenor Casino in Victoria, came through the gruelling four-day tournament to beat Australian Emad Tahtouh heads-up and take down a massive first prize of $941,513.
She became the first female player to win an EPT event when she flopped a seven high straight and had the simple decision of calling Tautouh's all in. Tahtouh had flopped a gutshot but missed on the turn and the river.
"I am so happy and proud to win this tournament in the Victoria casino," Coren said. "The whole EPT is an amazing thing - it's a fantasy to win any EPT event - but to win in London at the Vic is beyond my wildest dreams."
Coren, although not coming close to winning such a big tournament again, cashed in the WSOP for the first time in 2007 when she came 68th in the six-handed $5,000 no-limit hold'em event.
She is a regular face on television poker, either playing in tournaments such as the partypoker.com premier league or as co-commentator on the latest series of Late Night Poker.
