When you think of New Orleans, you think of all sorts of things, ranging from innovative music to spicy food (often made with some sort of gator) to plenty of color and originality, all of which can be thought of as coming for a real zest for life. Paul Clark is from New Orleans (conveniently truncated by the natives as Nawlins), and legend has it he has never turned away a proposition bet. A proposition bet is like when one poker player says to another, I bet you a grand I can fit five C batteries in my mouth and the other one says Make it two grand and D batteries and you are on and suddenly the game is interrupted first in the scramble to find five D batteries, and then later when the paramedics show up to remove them from the mouth of the player happily counting his two grand. It requires a certain zest for life to take on many of those; or a certain amount of lunacy, but as the rumors didn’t specify what kinds of prop bets Paul took on, it’s probably best to call it zest.

Paul lives in Las Vegas, Nevada, where he is busy raking in the dough in high stakes poker tournaments, making it in the top 70 all time money winner ranking over the last fifteen years. His style of play is well known for being an aggressive, known-no-fear style like an Eskimo hunting a polar bear! No? Rats; okay, Paul, we still need your help on the nickname.

When not playing the pro circuit, Paul clocks in at a table at the Bellagio casino, competing in high-stakes games. He has three World Series of Poker bracelets to his name which he wears in an Inuit-like fashion? Okay, best we leave the Eskimo guesses alone.

Suffice to say Paul is another example of exactly how much diversity there is in the professional poker player world, and of a powerful, successful player.

(Does he have a wallet made of sealskin? Okay, okay, no more)
