Mike Sexton - The more you think about it, the more it makes sense. Mike Sexton isn’t human. He is an incredibly sophisticated next generation android that is designed to do two things; to mimic human behavior well enough to fool real humans, and to promote poker with the driving endurance and energy only possible through silicone brain power and a nuclear core. And if that isn’t true, then the man deserves a medal for his efforts, an entry into the Guinness Book of World records, and a medal. And a lie down; he has got to be tired.

If you are totally lost, never fear, elucidation to follow: Mike Sexton is the co-host of the World Poker Tour, the series of poker events that is also a television program, and is arguable responsible for kick starting the poker craze that has got your grandmother to invite the choir group over after practice for an impromptu No Limit Texas Hold’em party.   If you’ve seen the show, Mike is the guy with the grey hair and the blocky Seventies glasses that loves to throw out corny one-liners as often as hard poker stats.

You’ve likely seen Mike at the table from time to time as well. He is in the top five for money finishes in the World Series of Poker and a WSOP bracelet holder as well, for Seven Card Stud High Low from 1989. All those hot shot Young Guns and the like are just lucky he is not allowed to play in any WPT events- which is a shame for Mike, but he does feel it makes him a better poker player to watch all the action from so many experts at the game.

It turns out Mike does have a life before and outside of poker: Public Recreation degree from Ohio State University, joined the Army in 1970, got married after getting out of the Army, worked over the next four years as a military sales rep and ballroom dance teacher, then started playing poker full time. Aaaaaand we're back.
