A new review is up on Betsson Poker, part of the Ongame network of poker sites. Betsson offers access to six million registered poker players and boasts plenty of player- friendly features, such as mini tables and a nice loyalty program, but what really sticks out are innovative tourneys, like the Mad Tilt Sit and Go.
A typical Sit and Go event is very much like a Multi Table freezeout tournament, but does not get started until a certain number of players buy in. Two, six or ten players are the norm, although larger fields are possible, and the prize pool is chopped up according to the poker room's format. But not the Mad Tilt SnG.
These turbo sit and go events take what is typically considered "bad" in a tourney – low chip stacks and high blinds—and makes it a strength. Each player only starts with 60 chips, and the first blind level is 10 and 20. This puts your "M" at 2! (M is a term that refers to the number of small blinds plus big blinds divided into your stack. An M of less than 10 is considered an "all in or fold" playing situation.) So how do you possibly benefit? If you win, you get to keep all the buy in, at least for the $2 event. With ten players your payout is $20.
There are three different kinds of Mad Tilt Sit and Go events, based on buy in and number of players:
$2+$0.20
10 players
Winner takes all ($20)
$2+$0.20
50 players
Winner get $50
Runner up $30
Third place $20
$10+$1
10 players
Winner gets $89
Runner gets up a new $10+1 ticket
Betsson Poker also offers a lot of other forms of play, such as access to their sportsbook and casino. Worth checking out!
(Editor's Note: Betsson Poker has a few more tricks to offer you as well, such as playing blackjack straight from your poker account!)
