Ladbrokes poker.com has just recently announced that they will extend the main event of their Ladbrokes European Online Championship of Poker to cover two days instead of one. The move to extend the tournament is one intended to give a better experience to the players in the LECOP main event.
According to a recent report, the new managing director of Ladbokes Edward Ihre said the desire is to have players "win tournaments at Ladbrokespoker.com because they play well, not because they outlast other players…"
This sentiment is one that is sure to be warmly accepted and appreciated by online poker tournament players at large. When a tournament is set up with too short blind levels, too few chips, and too little overall time, a player's skill becomes less valuable, and luck plays a bigger factor. More chips and more time give skilled players a better chance at outplaying lucky players. It appears that Ladbrokes wants to move in this direction.
Ladbrokespoker.com's $750,000 guaranteed LEOCOP III main event will start earlier than previously announced on Saturday. The event will kick off at 4PM and instead of running till there is a winner, will end at midnight.
Day two will begin at 4PM on Sunday to wrap up the event. This will give players a chance to rest up and consider strategy in the same way they can for big events like the World Series of Poker. Another advantage to this two day format is that spectators can watch the final table play in real time without having to stay up till the wee hours.
Ladbrokes Poker is also gearing up for their much anticipated January Ladrokes Poker Cruise. Check out our Ladbrokes Poker Review to read more about this popular poker site.
(Editor's Note: Missed out on LECOP this year? Don't miss out on next- sign up with Ladbrokes Poker today and get up to $500.)
