2008 EPT Dortmund Starts Tomorrow

Professional poker players from all around Europe and the rest of the globe will be descending on Casino Hohensyburg today and tomorrow to take their place at the latest leg of the European Poker Tour, Season Four. Big German stars like Katja Thater and Thomas "Buzzer" Bhil will rub elbows with local fans as they all try to make their EPT dreams become a reality.

This is the second year of the German leg for the EPT and players and organizers alike are eager to see a repeat of last year's success. With 500 players max paying their buy in of EURO 7,700 (plus a EURO 300 tourney fee) there will certainly be a huge prize pool to contend for.

Big name poker players such as Daniel Negreanu will be representing PokerStars, the host of the EPT events, and a few other celebrities will be on hand as well that are new to the poker world, such as Boris Becker. Baron Von Slam will be on hand as a PokerStars ambassador, trying to use his aggressive tennis skills at the poker table – will he turn out to be a tight aggressive player, or a maniac?

The EPT is kicking off the event in style with a pre-tourney party the night before featuring dancers, "fire and snake performers" and a live DJ. Attending the party and then playing in the event are nearly 100 players who got a free ride, qualifying to play in the event via PokerStars.
